I have got a Macbook Pro A1286 with 10.6.8 from a friend and he asked me to update it to the newest OS. So I read already, that the Macbook is not compatible with sierra. Is it right, that I cant get an older OS (like El Capitan) in the App Store? Which is the latest OS for this Macbook? I cant find any information about this. If you don't have a Recovery Partition, you can boot from a Mac OS installer USB drive. Once booted in Recovery Mode, open Terminal, and run the following command: csrutil disable - Reboot the system. Once the system reboots, it should now successfully boot into your install of OS X.
